Day 1, Saturday 19th June 2027

6 hrs, 350 miles

We meet at Folkestone for our early morning Eurotunnel crossing to Calais.

We have 350 miles of the excellent French motorway network to take us to the outskirts of Dijon. Our hotel, in the heart of the Burgundy region, was originally built as a fortified Château in 1180, and destroyed and rebuilt several times until its current incarnation in the 16th Century.

We relax and enjoy the hotel’s facilities and look forward to our first evening together.

Day 2, Sunday 20th June 2027

3.5 hrs, 200 miles

After breakfast we have a relatively short journey with two optional routes.

Our ultimate destination today is Le Grand Bornand in the French Alps. This location offers relaxation, walks, and the opportunity to participate in some optional mountain biking or paragliding (depending on availability and weather).

Alternatively, you may wish to join the group who instead drive first to beautiful Lake Annecy for lunch and a walk around this 12th Century ‘Venice of the Alps’.

Whichever you choose you can look forward to a lovely evening dinner and relaxing together at our hotel.

Day 3 & 4, Monday 21st - Tuesday 22nd June 2027

7 hrs, 230 miles

After breakfast we have 230 miles of French and Italian alpine roads to look forward to.

But first our French host will proudly and swiftly lead us up to the 1,498 metre summit  of the Col des Aravis in his classic 911 Carrera. The views of Mont Blanc towering above us are incredible. We then tackle the San Bernardino Pass (2,066 metres) into Italy, and on to our ultimate destination on the shores of Lake Maggiore. This is the perfect place for some relaxation as we look forward to two nights at this very special place. We have evening dinner booked at the hotel.

Day 4 offers more opportunity to absorb the outstanding hospitality and beauty of this, Italy’s second largest lake, lush with Mediterranean flora and with far reaching views of the Alps. You may wish to participate in hiring a speedboat for exploring the lake, its numerous waterfront villages, and islands. Otherwise a day trip to Milan is possible, or simply soak up the tranquillity of this wonderful location, and enjoy the hotel’s extensive facilities. We have evening dinner reserved at a restaurant on one of the lake’s islands.

Day 5, Wednesday 23rd June 2027

5 hrs, 140 miles

We leave Italy temporarily today (we’re back there again tomorrow), and head 140 miles north into the Swiss Alps and to our hotel in Andermatt.

Our route takes us over the Furka Pass (2,431 metres), immortalised by James Bond’s Aston DB5 / Ford Mustang car chase in Goldfinger. We’ll be stopping at the abandoned and iconic Blevedere Hotel, from which it’s possible to walk to the foot of the incredible Rhone Glacier. We then head back down via the Grimsel Pass (2,164 metres), and onto the Susten Pass (2,264 metres). Our route then takes us over the Gotthard Pass (2,106 metres) to our hotel in Andermatt.

And after such an exciting day on these famous passes, we can relax with dinner at our lovely hotel.

Day 6, Thursday 24th June 2027

6 hrs, 165 miles

We head back into Italy today, via the Albula Pass – at 2,312 metres – with its breathtaking peaks and rugged terrain.

Our hotel is located on the Stelvio Pass (2,757 metres), the second highest in the Alps. The views from the hotel terrace are incredible, with the setting sun illuminating the peaks of the Dolomites. It’s made even more special sharing a well-earned drink with new friends.

You may wish to enjoy the outside pool or the Spa before dinner.

Day 7, Friday 25th June 2027

7 hrs, 245 miles

We look forward to venturing into Austria and Germany today. Austria’s famous Alpine Coaster in Hoch-Imst is our destination for lunch: the 3.5km long track is the longest in the world, and well worth a ride! We then venture onto the Hahntennjoch Pass (1,894 metres); with its 29 hairpin bends and panoramic views, it’s one of Austria’s best drivers’ roads.

The excitement continues as we cross the German border to sample some unrestricted Autobahn, on our way to our hotel in Aldingen. We have dinner reserved at the hotel.

Day 8, Saturday 26th June 2027

6.5 hrs, 319 miles

The spectacular sweeping roads of Germany’s Black Forest will be our main playground today. And the B500 (Baden-Baden) Black Forest High Road is considered one of the best. It blends smooth surfaces, long, sweeping bends, fast open stretches, and wide‑ranging views across the Rhine valley. A perfect end to the week’s driving then, as we head over the border into France and to our hotel in the historic city of Reims.

We’ll have a wonderful final evening together, celebrating the trip of a lifetime with new friends!

Day 9, Sunday 27th June 2027

3.5 hrs, 170 miles

Our final breakfast sets us up for our journey back to our Eurotunnel crossing at Calais. But first we stop at Circuit de Reims-Gaux, the former French Grand Prix track, to soak up the atmosphere of its former glories, and for some obligatory photos and drive-by videos.

We head back to Calais, over some of the best motorways in Europe, for our return on the Eurotunnel to Folkestone, arriving in the early afternoon.

The end of another outstanding OTR Alps tour! With our heads crammed full of shared memories to last a lifetime, we’ll look forward to doing it all again next year!
