Wales has some of the UK’s best driving roads; well surfaced, undulating, and fast through the valleys or seriously mountainous in Snowdonia: they are some of the most challenging roads around. OTR’s 2021 tour of central and north Wales generated adrenaline even without the cars, with the Titan 2 zip line – at 100mph it is the fastest in the world! Our guests  brought a fascinating array of real driver’s cars: Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, Golf 7 R and GTI, Ferrari 458, two Jaguar F-Types, Jaguar XKR, Aston Martin DB7 GTA, Honda S2000, Porsche 993 and 996 C4S. Breakfast at Caffeine and Machine set us up for our journey via the Shropshire Hills, Oswestry, Lake Vimwy, and Lake Bala, to our base hotel beside Lake Mwyngil. Day 2 led us via Pen-y Pass to ride the incredible zip line over Penrhyn Quarry, before heading back on those outstanding roads to our hotel. Our last day enabled us to sample the famous evo ‘Triangle’ (but the surrounding roads are way more satisfying since it’s been heavily regulated), before heading home with some great memories.
